Event Description:
Join the Council for Quality Growth's South Metro Advisory Committee Meeting with Antonio Valenzula, Director, South Fulton Public Works

Director of the City of South Fulton, Public Works, Antonio strategically leads the Transportation, General Services, Fleet, and Sanitations Divisions.  The transportation division main areas are: planning, traffic operations, construction operations and maintenance, capital improvement programs, TSPLOST, and LMIG projects. Antonio has also led the 2016 first approval of TSPLOST for Fulton County as well as the First Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the cities of South Fulton. Antonio was a successful civil engineer in Peru prior to moving to the United States, and has successfully made career as a Public Works administrator and civil construction expert.
His first opportunity in the public sector came when he joined the U.S. Army 92nd Engineers in October or 1992.  After that, he held roles leading Commercial Construction, Program Management Teams, Design, Rights of Way Acquisition, and Roads and Bridge Construction projects before he became the Director of Public Works for the City of South Fulton.  Ever since, he has collaborated on projects with the Atlanta Regional Commission, Georgia Department of Transportation, MARTA, cities within Fulton County, state and federal agencies, and Community Improvement Districts.
His success in that first role with Fulton County led to subsequent leadership positions in Public Works with increased responsibilities, larger budgets, demanding deadlines, and bigger impact throughout communities.
In addition, Antonio as the Public Works Director, does public presentations on behalf of the city, provides special reports directly to the community, employees, and top local officials.  He gets involved with the community by attending public meetings like the City Council Meeting and Board of Commissioners sessions held for Fulton County, as well as town hall meetings with constituents.

Antonio holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from National University of Cuzco (title certified by ABET), and a Master of Business Science (MBS) degree in Construction and Management from Southern Polytechnic State University. Antonio is fluent in Spanish.
