Through conservative fiscal management, the city has maintained a balanced budget, as well as adding to its fund balance yearly. Jonesboro has sustained a 1.5 mil rate, while providing a high level of services to its citizens, as well as free events and concerts.  Mayor Day has dedicated her adult life to the improvement and enhancement of quality of life for Clayton County citizens.
