North Fulton Advisory Committee Meeting with Sandy Springs Councilman Gabriel Sterling
Councilman Sterling was at the forefront of creating the City of Sandy Springs. He was one of the members of the Committee for Sandy Springs and served as co-chairman of the Sandy Springs Referendum Committee. Once the referendum to create the city passed, Sterling served as chairman of the Sandy Springs Fire/EMS Transition Task Force and as one of the five negotiators representing Sandy Springs in the transition with Fulton County, along with Mayor Eva Galambos.
Mr. Sterling served Sandy Springs as a stakeholder with the Atlanta Regional Commission’s North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan efforts. He currently serves as vice chairman of the local charity organization, The Sandy Springs Challenge, which raises money for Sandy Springs through sporting events. He led efforts to bring Livestrong’s 24 Hours of Booty cycling event to Sandy Springs. The event raises money for cancer survivorship and the Aflac Cancer Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Councilman Sterling owns a public relations and political consulting firm, SSH, Inc., here in Sandy Springs. He is now working on a new venture to launch a new beer label and brewery.
