Councilwoman LaKeisha Gantt was born and raised in Forsyth, GA (Middle GA). Her parents are Ralph and Connie Gantt. She is the oldest of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Gantt Sr. She is raising two daughters, Kayden and Kylee.

LaKeisha attended Mary Persons High School in Forsyth where she graduated with honors. She then attended Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, where she graduated with honors, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in English and Political Science. She then proceeded to Law School where she received her Juris Doctorate Degree with Honors from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, in Lansing MI.

After Graduating from Law school at the Age of 25, LaKeisha was the first African American female from Forsyth, GA to become the Staff Attorney for the Superior Court of the Towaliga Judicial Circuit (Butts, Lamar and Monroe County). She has passed both the Georgia State Bar and the Illinois Bar.

In 2011-2012, Attorney LaKeisha Gantt was sworn in as the first Chairman of the Ethics Board for the City of Stockbridge. In 2012 she became the first African American to be appointed as the Solicitor for the City of Stockbridge.

LaKeisha currently resides in Stockbridge and is the owner of the Gantt & Associates Law Firm where she practices mainly Civil, Real Estate, Family Law and Misdemeanor Criminal Cases.

She is a member of the Henry County Bar Association, The Family Law Section of the State Bar, a volunteer for multiple non-profit organizations, and last, but not least, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

LaKeisha enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling and loves speaking to the youth of the community, hoping that one day she will have a positive impact on some of their lives.
