Peachtree Corners Central Business District Study Overview

The Atlanta Regional Commission awarded Peachtree Corners a grant to prepare a plan for its central business district.  This part of the City spans 1500 acres along Peachtree Parkway from Medlock Bridge Road at the northern end to Holcomb Bridge Road at the south.  With the help of Lord, Aeck, and Sargent, the city’s planning consultant, a plan has been developed that divides the length of Peachtree Parkway into three distinct nodes:  The Town Center Hub, to the north; the Holcomb Bridge Hub, to the south; and the Innovation Hub in the middle surrounding Technology Park.

Within those three nodes, the study focuses on five, key strategies:
1.            addressing traffic issues;
2.            facilitating housing choices;
3.            refreshing and redeveloping;
4.            amenitizing and connecting; and
5.            creating remarkable spaces.

The study identifies places where opportunities exist within the central business district to make improvements, address the five key strategies, and develop a new type of ‘downtown’ for an innovative, new city.  The implementation of this work, along with other efforts, will reshape and reposition the city.  It will help Peachtree Corners reinvent itself as the best ‘live, work, play’ option for the next generation.
