Join the Council for Quality Growth's Gwinnett Advisory Committee Meeting featuring Paul D. Radford, City Manager for the City of Sugar Hill.

Paul was named city manager of Sugar Hill in November 2013 and has helped lead the city’s efforts to plan, design and create a sustainable destination downtown.  With award-winning music, arts, recreation, and commercial venues downtown, the city has attracted over $250 million of private investment while also repurposing old city-owned assets into new and unique venues.

Prior to joining the city, Paul served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA).  He was responsible for leading the association’s state and federal relations, research, policy development, communications, and downtown development efforts, including the Georgia Cities Foundation.

Paul also spent 22 years with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, serving under four Governors and played key roles in designing and implementing many of the major programs, services, planning policies and economic development incentives still in place to this day. He was also instrumental in creating the current structure and operations of the Gwinnett Municipal Association (GwMA)

In his early career, Paul served as the Economic Director of the Southeast Georgia Area Planning and Development Commission; the Community Development Director of the Oconee Area Planning and Development Commission; and was the first County Manager of Cook County, Georgia.

Paul was recently elected to serve as one of 16 board members of the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) representing parts of Gwinnett, Forsyth and Fulton counties.
