Jennifer Scott
Town Manager & Clerk, Town of Braselton
Jennifer Scott has worked for the Town of Braselton since September 1997. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Huntingdon College, a Masters of Science in Justice and Public Safety from Auburn University at Montgomery and a Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law.
Ms. Scott is a certified Town Clerk in the State of Georgia and a 2003 graduate of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government?s Management Development Program as well as a former certified Municipal Court Judge and is a published author.
As Town Manager and Clerk for Braselton, Ms. Scott has experience in local government management as well as experience in the management of development projects.
Ms. Scott oversees all services provided by the Town, including Police, Courts, Capital Projects, Elections, Finance, Planning and Development, Roads, Water and Sewerage, Reuse Water, Stormwater, Libraries, Economic Development and Parks. Ms. Scott supervises all local government staff and is the liaison between Town Council, Town Staff, volunteers, Agency and Authority members, and consultants.
Ms. Scott also coordinates and provides staff for the Braselton Urban Redevelopment Agency, the Braselton Downtown Development Authority, the Braselton Public Facilities Authority and the Braselton Ethics Board; she chairs the Braselton Visitors Bureau Authority, a certified DMO that coordinates all special events and marketing efforts within the Town, is President of the Athens Area Facilities Corporation, a non profit corporation that owns and manages the facility occupied by the Georgia Department of Labor in Athens, Georgia and she is a member of the Braselton CID.
Ms. Scott was named Local Government Administrator of the Year by the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center for their 12 county area in 2004 and Jackson County Woman of the Year in 2015.
