Gwinnett Advisory Committee Meeting with Commissioner Tommy Hunter:RSVP for Septermber 22nd Meeting
Tommy Hunter was elected to the District 3 seat of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in November 2012. He is Vice President, Business Development for an environmental and geotechnical testing firm in Norcross. Before entering the private sector, Tommy worked for Gwinnett County in the Department of Public Utilities (now Water Resources) as DOT Coordinator for eight years.
Tommy previously served on the Gwinnett County Water and Sewerage Authority, 2005-2009, and the Planning Commission, 2011-2012. He is a past president of the Stone Ridge Manor Homeowners Association and teaches Sunday school at Harmony Baptist Church in Buford. A native of south Hall County, he graduated from Johnson High School in 1988 and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University in 1993. He received his Engineer-in-Training certification in 2003.
Tommy and his wife of 20 years, Judith, have two children, one who attends the University of North Georgia and another who attends Mill Creek High School.
