David McKee
County Manager
Forsyth County
David McKee was appointed County Manager at Forsyth County Government in December 2022. McKee previously joined Forsyth County in April 2021 as Assistant County Manager where he oversees operations of the County’s Engineering, Recycling & Solid Waste, Fleet Services, Public Transportation and Public Facilities departments. He also serves as the executive manager for all transportation related activities and responsibilities and will be the County’s key contact with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
David has been in the public sector for nearly 20 years, where he served in various roles in Dawson County working in environmental compliance, engineering, GIS and planning. He also served as Dawson County’s Public Works Director and SPLOST Administrator. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Georgia Southern University. He has attained an Advanced Certificate of Public Works Management from the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government and American Public Works Association and has also been recognized by Carl Vinson Institute of Government and ACCG, Georgia’s County Association as a Certified County Official by completing The Lifelong Learning Academy.
