Event Description:
Join the Council for Quality Growth's DeKalb Advisory Meeting featuring Commissioner Kathie Gannon. 

Commissioner Gannon was elected by the citizens of Super District 6 to the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners in 2004. She' currently serving as the Planning, Economic Development and Community Services (PECS) Chair.  Over the years she's served the Board of Commission as Presiding and Deputy Presiding Officer, Chair of Budget & Finance, Planning, Transportation, and rotated on all committees. Commissioner Gannon's public service priorities are in the areas of land use and planning, the environment and conservation, protection of our neighborhoods, fiscal responsibility and accountability, and issues that impact our youth and senior citizens.

In addition to her work in District 6, she advocates for DeKalb County at the state and national level through positions on the Board of Managers with the Association of County Commissions of Georgia (ACCG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo).

Within these organizations, she serves on the ACCG Steering Committee on Mental Health and NACo’s Environment, Energy, & Land Use, Large Urban Counties, and Resilient Counties Initiatives. Locally, she's on the DeKalb Community Service Board. She has been actively involved in DeKalb County since the 1980s.
