Director, Cobb County Department of Transportation
Erica Parish was born and raised in Paulding County and continues to reside in Dallas with her husband, Jason, and their three children.
In the summer of 1997, Erica accepted a position with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), as a summer employee, working in the Utilities Office in Cartersville, Georgia. She was exposed to Civil Engineering while working in this position and fell in love with the many levels of transportation. She began her education spending her first year of college at Kennesaw State University. She transferred to Southern Polytechnic State University in 1998 and began her course to obtaining her degree in Civil Engineering Technology. While attending SPSU, she parallel co-oped with GDOT, allowing her to attend school full-time and work part-time.
In 2001, Erica graduated from SPSU and accepted her first full-time position as the Preconstruction Engineer with Paulding County DOT. She continued her career with Paulding County DOT until resigning from her position as the Preconstruction Manager in September of 2016. During her tenure with Paulding County, Erica obtained her Professional Engineering Licensure.
In September 2016, Erica accepted an offer with Cobb County Department of Transportation as the Deputy Director and was promoted to the Director in November 2018. She leads a team of more than 150 employees, manages seven divisions, and cultivates partnerships with DOT’s on-site consultants; CIDs, Cities within Cobb; and other various stakeholders throughout the state of Georgia.
Erica enjoys reading spending time with her family, attending her children’s sporting events, helping with her youngest son’s Boy Scout Troop, and attending church.
