Dana Johnson was named Executive Director of SelectCobb and Executive Vice President of Economic Development at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce in January of 2019. Under his leadership, the organization will focus its efforts on business recruitment and retention, assisting the local business community with their workforce development needs, and implementing the county's first international business strategy. Dana is joining a strong team at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce that has a history of supporting and advocating on behalf of the business community in Cobb.

Prior to his current role, Dana was appointed Director of the Cobb County Community Development Agency in 2015. In his time leading Community Development he has focused on the nuts and bolts of the agency to ensure that is running efficiently, concentrating on the end user experience. Under his leadership, the county has expanded e-government capabilities by creating online submission platforms for business license renewals, site plan reviews, inspection results, and structural plan reviews. In 2017, Mr. Johnson assisted with the reorganization of Economic Development within Cobb County and implemented the reorganization plan. Dana understands that good customer service must be part of the county's economic development strategy, which is why his time with Community Development ensured that the agency's customers and the public were able to engage and conduct their business with ease and transparency.
