Ragsdale is a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and his family has lived there since 1832. He graduated from Etowah High School in Woodstock and went to Southern Polytechnic State University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. In 2015, Ragsdale graduated from Mississippi State University with a Master's in Business Administration.
Ragsdale first became interested in county government when the SW HWY 92 corridor began to develop. His family had lived in this area for generations and he became aware of major changes happening. Becoming aware of the changes to the area and how those changes were happening at the county level inspired him to get involved. Supported by friends and family, Ragsdale ran successfully for County Commissioner in 2018.
