Join the Council for Quality Growth's Atlanta Advisory Meeting on March 2, 2022 at 8:15 AM in-person at Selig's 1105 W Peachtree office building to hear about the City of Atlanta's new Housing Innovation Lab from the Lab's lead, Matthew Bedsole.
About Atlanta's Housing Innovation Lab
The recently created Housing Innovation Lab will explore, test, and implement cutting-edge approaches to housing affordability to open new doors towards a more equitable Atlanta. Through the lab, the City of Atlanta will (1) enable the private market, (2) offer technical assistance to developers and non-profit organizations, and (3) partner on major, city-owned development sites.

As Assistant Director, Matt leads OHCD's Housing Innovation Lab. Matt began his career as an urban planning consultant, working with communities in Atlanta and around the country plan and implement compelling growth strategies that benefit everyone, fight displacement, and promote community revitalization. His past housing work includes launching the Westside Future Fund's Anti-Displacement Tax Fund, supporting the City of Detroit's winning Choice Neighborhoods Implementation bid, and developing post-disaster recovery infill housing programs for the City of Panama City. At the Housing Innovation Lab, Matt is leading Atlanta’s new initiative to activate affordable housing and mixed-use projects on city-owned property. These sites will be used as staging grounds for cutting-edge ideas in which the value of the land can be used to build a better, more equitable Atlanta.
