Lisa Y. Gordon is the Chief Operating Officer for the City of Atlanta. She joined the Dickens administration in February 2022. Gordon is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity where she led one of the highest producing and impactful affiliates in the country. As a result of her strategic action, she quadrupled the number of families served in four years with a goal to serve over 1,000 additional families in five years. She leveraged a $74 Million balance sheet comprised of a construction business, retail store and mortgage company for exponential impact.

Gordon is a strategic leader and consensus builder who enjoys working on complex business issues and creating opportunities for success. She is a financial expert and has a strong acumen for complex transactions, public-private partnerships, and extensive experience with audit committees and financial reviews.

She was the architect of the city of Atlanta’s first five-year financial plan - a strategic document used to build the city’s reserves and increase their bond rating to A+. She also led the organization out of a $80 million dollar deficit that received accolades from the Mayor and City Council.

In recognition of her financial savvy and leadership skills she was appointed to the Global Governing Trustee Board and the Americas Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the leading real estate organization serving 45,000 members globally. She was the first person of color to Chair the ULI Atlanta Board and is a nationally recognized policy expert and fellow of the prestigious National Academy of Public Administration. She also serves as expert adviser for national strategy initiatives commissioned by the U.S. Congress.

Gordon has been recognized for her leadership by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and honored as a 2021 Power 100 - Most Influential Atlantans and previously a 2018 Women Who Mean Business. Other noteworthy awards include Atlanta Magazine’s Top 500 Leaders in 2019-2020, The YWCA of Greater Atlanta 2017 Academy of Women Achievers, and Bisnow magazine’s Top 40 most influential women in commercial real estate.

She has a graduate degree from The Maxwell School at Syracuse University, is a Georgetown University graduate and received her second master’s degree from Nova Southeastern in Accounting. She is an avid golfer who lives in Atlanta and enjoys spending time with her family.
