Jacob Vallo
Sr. Director of Transit Oriented Development and Real Estate, MARTA

Jacob Vallo is the Head of the Office of TOD (Transit Oriented Development and Real Estate) at MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority). He previously served in investment management/ private equity, investment banking and commercial real estate development roles for 19 years in the private sector.
He held a brief position with an aerospace company prior to joining MARTA. Notably, he formed the $110 million Westside Future Fund with capital invested from some of the largest Atlanta companies and high net worth individuals. This social impact fund is focused on the redevelopment of neighborhoods around the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Prior to the Westside Future Fund, he held the position of Vice President of Urban Development of the Southeast Region at the Rockefeller Group, the former family office real estate group of the Rockefeller Family. He has also owned and operated his own advisory firm, Amsterdam Capital, which advised a billion dollar family office on its real estate investments and consulted on large land developments, including the former General Motors Manufacturing Plant in Doraville, GA, where he led the initial financing of the project and also worked on the financing of Third Rail Studios, the film/tv studio which is on a long term lease to Netflix. He also served as Co-Head of Investment Banking where he opened the Atlanta office for a boutique Boston firm, Roseview Securities. Mr. Vallo held his FINRA Series 63 and 79, and raised programmatic equity and worked on restructurings. While he was at Roseview he was an instrumental member of the team which closed a $100 million, Evergreen Fund with DuPont Capital Management and a $150 million joint venture between a Seattle based developer and Boston based hedge fund the Baupost Group. He also worked on the restructuring of Kiawah Island on behalf of the Darby Family.
Mr. Vallo answered a calling to bring his private sector experience to bear on the public sector to positively transform the way the Authority manages its real estate portfolio. He brings his strong fiduciary experience to what essentially is a portfolio of ground leases, former transit use land held for future development and current transit oriented developments in process or under construction.
Mr. Vallo received an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M and a Masters degree from Cornell University. Born in Rhode Island, but raised in Houston, Texas, he has been a resident of the great State of Georgia since 1999.
