Join the Council for Quality Growth's Atlanta Advisory Meeting with Atlanta City Councilman Michael Bond.

Michael Julian Bond was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He was elected in November 2009 to serve as the Post 1 At-Large Councilmember for the City of Atlanta. As of 2016 he remains in his current seat as a city-wide representative. Bond represents more than 450,000 Atlanta residents. He is a member of the Committee on Council, Community Development and Human Resources and Public Safety Committees. From 1994 to 2001, Bond served on the Atlanta City Council as the District 3 representative for portions of the City’s south and northwest quadrants. During that time he served as the City Council’s President Pro Tempore and as Chair of both the Public Safety and Community Development Committees. Bond served as the Deputy Director and Chief Programs Officer for the Atlanta Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Former National Board member from 2011 to 2013 for American Diabetes Association (ADA), Bond continues to volunteer with ADA for over twenty (20) years.
 
Councilman Bond has received numerous accommodations and awards over the years.

Councilman Bond is the son of the late civil rights advocate Julian Bond and Alice Bond. He attended Fredrick Douglass High School, Morehouse College and Georgia State University. In 2011 he received his certification for the Senior Executives in State and Local Government from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is an active member at Antioch Baptist Church North.
